"All time is all time. It does not change. It does not lend itself to warnings or explanations. It simply is. Take it moment by moment, and you will find that we are all, as I've said before, bugs in amber." --Slaughterhouse FiveOw. My heart. God bless you, Mr. Vonnegut.
So it goes.

This is another really good essay/obit, from Salon.com's Andrew Leonard. Although I've read a few of his books, Vonnegut never impressed me as much as some other writers did. This said, I haven't read anything by him since I was in my late teens. Perhaps I should again. My only other strong recollection about Vonnegut was the movie Back to School (filmed partially in my hometown!), when zillionaire Rodney Dangerfield goes back to college, and for an English essay, he hires Vonnegut to write his essay on Vonnegut. The essay gets like a D- and a comment like "you don't know anything about Kurt Vonnegut!"
